Award season is over, the Palestinian genocide is not
Like every year, we’ve watched Hollywood walk red carpets, win awards, and entertain audiences for the past five months. The 96th Annual Academy Awards marked the end of award season. However, the award show was yet another distraction from the war crimes Israel is committing in Palestine.
The Food Box, the break away from home offices
Last week, I asked my following about where the new work friendly spaces were in Johannesburg. Since the lockdown, it’s not surprising that some of my old jaunts have shut down and new ones have cropped up all over the city. There were a few suggestions that I’ve since added onto my list of places to see, but the one I decided on was The Food Box.
After therapy, just be hot
You’ve spilled your guts to your mental healthcare worker. Soiled tissues with your tears and snot tossed into the rubbish bin. Eyes puffy, breath shaky, and your head a little sore. It helps to consider just being hot, and personally that is best achieved by listening to music that makes me feel hot.
My “sparkle” vs. a slow burning romance
The romance that I’m warming towards will need to burn slow, will require patience, but I’m interested in it - a novelty.
So perhaps I’ll lose my “sparkle”. Perhaps I never should have developed that element of my character. Perhaps I won’t be good at this budding romance, but at this point in my life, it is a slow burning romance that I want to explore.
Love? Sometimes there is no way but to be desperate
I created desperate for him as an ode to one of the people whom I have no business loving. We’re currently in an off period, but before he broke the news, I knew I was feeling desperate for him and channeled that sentiment into this playlist. However, I only found the hero song recently with the release of “No Way” by Tom Saison and Naye Ayla.
Bad love? Call it quits, don’t stand by the door
When in love, I’m known to perfectly curate playlists to describe my sentiments. When I sat and really listened to ZimkithA’s “By The Door”, I considered how hard it is for us to get that final push out of the door. In honor of a love, that I’m still not ready to let go, I curated calling it quits. Why? Because I too need “Dash through the door, hightail on the highway and get the hell out of that love.”

Season One Of The Review Is a Wrap
South Africa's YouTube community is accused of being underwhelming and unoriginal at least once a month. At this point, I'm not going to bother myself by explaining how we are different and have varied content. After I wrapped season one of The Review, I'm concluding that the content exists, it's just not as visible as the rest.
